What should I wear?

Whenever I find out about some important meeting, my first thought is, “WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

In today’s very consumption-oriented times, your dress and how you present yourself is saying a lot about you. I am not talking about mega-expensive brand clothing, but about how you match the elements of your outfit to the meeting in which you participate.

For example, during an interview, regardless of the style of the company or the loose behavior of its managers, it is better to be overdressed than underdressed.

Coming to an interview in jeans or a leather jacket may be seen as a sign of disrespect. On the other hand, dressing in a super elegant outfit while colleagues invite you to a beer may be mistaken as snobbish.

So what’s the golden rule? Well, I will tell you, there are some ways to dress up ‘safely’ and to suit every occasion.

When you get an invitation to the Gala, an official business meeting or a conference, do not be shy to ask about dress code; it helps to avoid situations when, for example, it turns out that the evening has to end in a pub and you are in a tuxedo.

When it comes to interviews, dressing up, and preparing for an interview, it shows the employer's effort, time, and attention of the candidate devoted to doing well at the meeting. The employer usually appreciates this.

When I do not know what to wear, I usually choose black – it is always elegant, but also neutral, but I will write about colors in one of my next articles.
